Itinerary
Begin your journey from Fes in the morning and head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Your first stop will be in Ifrane, known for its alpine-style architecture and clean streets, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Continue to Azrou, where you can see wild Barbary monkeys in the cedar forests. Travel through Midelt and the dramatic Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga, near the edge of the Sahara Desert. In the evening, take a camel ride into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to watch the sunset. Enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night in a desert camp under the stars.
Wake early to witness the sunrise over the dunes before returning by camel to Merzouga. After breakfast and a shower, depart toward the Dades Valley, stopping in Rissani to visit its traditional market. Travel through arid desert landscapes until you reach the dramatic Todra Gorges, where you can take a short walk between the towering canyon walls. Continue through the scenic road of the Dades Valley, known for its winding roads and rocky formations. Overnight in a charming guesthouse or hotel nestled in the valley.
After breakfast, head through the Valley of Roses, famous for its fragrant rose products and beautiful scenery. Continue through the palm groves of Skoura before arriving in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where you can visit the Atlas Film Studios or the historic Taourirt Kasbah. In the afternoon, visit the stunning UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a ksar made of earthen clay and the backdrop to many famous films. Spend the night in a traditional guesthouse near the kasbah.
Depart Ait Ben Haddou in the morning and travel across the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, offering breathtaking views and scenic stops along the way. Arrive in Marrakech by the afternoon and settle into your accommodation. You’ll have free time to explore the vibrant Jemaa el-Fnaa square, enjoy local street food, and browse the bustling souks. Overnight in Marrakech.
Enjoy a guided city tour of Marrakech, starting with historical landmarks such as the Koutoubia Mosque and the Bahia Palace. Stroll through the colorful souks and visit the Saadian Tombs and the tranquil Majorelle Garden. The afternoon is free for more exploration, shopping, or relaxing in a traditional hammam. Depart Marrakech in the morning and make a stop in the coastal city of Essaouira, where you can visit the kasbah and enjoy views of the Atlantic Ocean. After a short break Arrive in the afternoon and explore the old medina, the harbor with blue boats, and the impressive Skala de la Ville. Enjoy the relaxed coastal atmosphere and fresh seafood. Overnight in Essaouira.
